Magic Farkle
A downloadable game
Magic Farkle is a work in progress game (good bug huntin'!) that I'll probably never finish. However, it has reached a level of functionality where I wanted to show it off. With programmer UI art and all!
The game simply follows the rules of the Farkle Dice game, where you have to risk your points to get a higher score. I've tried to elaborate on this by adding two game modes to the base game: 'Threshold' and 'Precision'.
In Threshold, you have to reach and/or overshoot a target score to win the round and dice work as they normally work in Farkle. Using 'Bank' will save your score and move you to the next round.
In Precision, you have to hit a certain target score. Dice that would normally be void now grant their pips as score, which will put your basic maths skills to the test! One die is subtracted from the cast with each check, so be careful.
Models and textures are made with BlockBench by me.
Controls:
'Left click' the dice to select them.
Hold 'right click' and move the mouse to adjust the camera.
'Scroll wheel' controls the zoom.
'r' resets dice.
'g' after dice are thrown shows the percentage distribution of die faces.
Known issues:
'Auto Check' will not count points when playing in a game mode other than 'Free Mode'.
Dice can sometime land on the edge of the area platform, which spazzes out the RigidBody physics.
Pressing 'shift + r' ('reset all' function) will softlock the game. Press 'forfeit' to reset properly.
If you somehow end up controlling a first-person character on a solitary floating platform, consider it winning the game. Congratulations!
